Does anyone have any ideas of some good movies to test the subwoofer capabilities? A title and a scene would be really appreciated. Thanks

U-571, chapter 12 or 13, I don't remember,  when they drop bombs in the sea to blow up a sub.

I really wish, people would use links instead of including large images into their posting. Just makes browsing Today's topics unhandy.

Koyanasqati (not sure about the spelling) but the intro nearly broke my patio door... You feel the bass more than you hear it.

If it were posted elswhere I might have used a link. Since this is a WORD doc the image was the only choice I had. So, bitch all you want or find it and post a link yourself.

Thanks for all the help with the bass heavy movies and tracks, I am thinkin of building my own subwoofer enclosure and having my cabinet maker brother laminate it and see if I can make a really good sub for less money than buying a big name brand. I used to build subwoofer exclosures for sound compettition in cars. I know its a completely different ball of wax but why not try. Thanks again for all your help I will be running to the stores today to get pick up some of these bass heavy movies and sound tracks. Thanks

Maybe the topic list was cluttered with images and I overlooked your posting.

@dan
Both and image link and a normal link refer to an external source. So what's the problem with using the latter one?

Anyway, there is  nothing "wrong" with including images. Dan's posting just hit my personal threshold and I had to reply.

Ok, I actually own all of those movies so I dont have to spend any extra money to get these. The object is for me to save money and maybe make a little better subwoofer for the price. I know I could never make a sub like Velodyne or MK but I also cant afford to spend $700 on a sub, so I will try and make one for about $350. Thanks Again and Goodguy "No Worries"

If you realy want detailled information about subwoofer friendly tracks, check this page out
http://www.svsound.com/questions-faqs.cfm#moviedemos

Although I am pissed at the people of svs, I don't want you to miss this nice summary of low bass movie tracks.

PS. I'm pissed of, because I would like to buy an SVS Tube subwoofer, but they recently decided that people, not living in the States, should buy at certified dealers, who can only sell Cubical subwoofers.

So I'm stuck here in the Netherlands without a decent subwoofer.

Why be so cruel during Christmas season????

All usual suggestions you'll find as recommendations (U-571 - Das Boot - etc,,,) but I'd like to add

'War Of The Worlds' (2005).

I just watched it last night and I was very impressed with the thunder cracks as the aliens were being transferred to the tripods. Turn the gain up lil' and give it a try... It really is a very good effect...
Video= Toshiba 62HMX84 / DVD= Sony DVP-NC675P / XBox= X3 Modded
Speakers= Axiom: M80ti (x2) / QS8 (x4) / VP150 (x1)
Sub= SVS - PB12-Ultra/2
AV/Reciever= Integra DTR-8.4

Thanks Rick, I actually just picked up that movie. I will try it tonight. Its surprising the movies that have some good low frequencies. I have found some pretty impressive bass on even shick flicks.
