Do the profiles in the wrong place have a collection number?

Yes, they do. I could send you my XML file, if it would help.

Quote:

Um. No. What skin are you using?

One simple one, that I wrote myself.
I have the line "<DP NAME="IMAGE" Face="YES" >" for my images. If I choose "local cover scans", it works fine.

It's not supposed to need saving, because it's supposed to guess them right to start with.... (I'm assuming it didn't?)

At startup, it always shows "undefined" in both fields. When I browse for the XML file, it opens with the last location I used. But when I browse for DVD Profiler, it starts in "My Documents" folder.  I have recently bought a new PC and I currently have only installed the DVD Profiler Beta version (with folder name DVD Profiler Beta). Could that be the cause of this?

I'll try reproducing here first and get back to you on that

Face is supposed to contain either "FRONT" or "BACK" according to the help file. I'll try reproducing with "YES" on my machine anyway.

Yes, the beta uses a different set of registry keys. I'll add it to my list.

I've just uploaded 0.2.1, which should fix all 3 of those issues

1) Empty collection numbers were to blame for the bad sorting. Now sorted to the bottom of the list

2) Program search changed from standard->undefined to beta->standard->blank

3) The undefined image thing was error-recovery gone wrong from (2). Now fixed.

Companion 0.2.1

Numbers 2 and 3 work now.
But the sorting with "Collection Number" has now a completely random order. And the DVD titles in the list.html have now all the collection number in front of their title (e.g. 310The Wizard of Oz).

Another thing. If I don't give a name for my Skin and I choose "yes" in the next go around when asked, if I have used the skin before, the listbox for skin selection has the entries skin.html and images. Selecting either does not work.

<mutters something about it working before fixing the registry bits>

Hey Doug,

As a skin expert, perhaps you can confirm or deny for me:
Does the <DP NAME="LoanDue" IfOverdue="TextToDisplayIfPastDue"> tag actually work as described? My testing seems to indicate that it is backwards; ie. it prints the text if the loan is not overdue. Does that jibe with your experience?

According to my testing notes, the text is always displayed overdue or not.

Obviously one of is wrong here...

[Update - you appear to be correct]

Thanks for verifying ... I hadn't seen your document previously; excellent work. I'll make notes on any other things I notice ...

It's been brought to my attention (thanks Mithirandir), that the display can be garbled on some machines. I've tracked this down to an experimental graphics toolkit I was inadvertently using.

If you get something that looks like the screenshot below, then download 0.2.3 which fixes the issue. If thing look 'normal', then don't bother.

@dvdoug:

tried the companion 2.2 with my selfmade skin. unfortunately the result is not the one i expected. the fields "actors", "features" and all the "crew"-fields stay blank. no profiler-info seems to be created for these fields. or is it only because i use firefox?
an other effect is, that i get spaces between the flags and the dolby/dts-symbols in dvdprofiler and don't with firefox. is that a compatability issue?
any ideas? thx in advance.

Can you zip-up your xml and skin, and send them to me? I should be able to work out what's going on then.
