OK, I found the problem.

Your skin uses lots of skin tags like this

Quote:
<DP NAME="CREW_DIRECTION" MAXLIST = "" DIVIDER="BREAK">

As per HTML rules, the spaces between (MAXLIST and =) and (= and "") aren't allowed, so when I was programming the logic for 'this is what a tag looks like', I didn't think to allow for that possibility. Because of that, the current version of the Companion treats those tags as it does any non-tag text and simply copies them verbatim into the output.

You've got 2 choices:

1) Get rid of the extra spaces either side of the =.
2) Wait for the next version of the Companion, which can handle the extra spaces.

I've started work on 0.3 aka 'the one with a decent menu in the HTML it makes'.

I've posted an early sample of the current output at

http://www.dougweb.org/list/test/universalgrid/

It doesn't have any of the dynamic functionality yet - I'm just working on the visuals at the moment. Depending on which browser you use, you should either get a menu that uses a combination of 'system colours' and 'system fonts' or you might get 'system appearance' (better, since it includes gradients etc). Regardless, it should look more like an application than a web page.

Any thoughts on the current look would be much appreciated.

Also if anyone knows how to get rid of that scrollbar in IE, it'd be much appreciated.

Looks great with Firefox. I like the compact font. What output skin are you using?

BTW, your webserver seems a bit despressed.

Klicking on Backcover (I know I'm curious  ) generates the error:
    "404 - Resource Not Found
Oops - the resource you've requested (http://www.dougweb.org/list/test/DESIGN/b.html) doesn't seem to exist...)"

Ross also pointed that out to me - it's the same issue we had with one of your skins, where you were manually building the location of the image using it's normal hard-drive location instead of getting it via the appropriate skin tag. It's something I need to workaround.

I'm pleased to say that 0.3 will be completely localisable - both the application GUI and the HTML output. Although it will support drop-in localisations (install a small language pack after the app - I don't want to release a new version for each new language!), it would be nice to release 0.3, with inbuilt support for as many non-English languages as possible.

Would anyone like to offer their services as translator? All offers gratefully received.
