Not going to happen. You really should try a search BEFOIRE asking question for the gazillionth time.. Please watch the billy viudeo in my signature.

If recall correctly Mac is also mentioned in IVS' FAQs.

You can also run the program under Windows emulation, but a Mac version isn't going to happen. This is what happens when you choose to buy such a dominant(not) computer.

Perhaps Intervocative shoulod listen to the obvious many who are asking for a mac version - there's clearly a consumer base ready for it.
This royal throne of kings, this sceptred isle,
This earth of majesty, this seat of Mars,
This other Eden, demi-paradise,
This fortress built by Nature for herself
Against infection and the hand of war,
This happy breed of men, this little world,
This precious stone set in the silver sea,
Which serves it in the office of a wall
Or as a moat defensive to a house,
Against the envy of less happier lands,--
This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England.

LOL, consumer need...oh yeah. We have 500,000 users and we have maybe gotten 1000 request for a Mac version. Let's see that represents 0.20%. That is Two Tenths of ONE PERCENT. Yikes!!!! That's a huge consumer base......NOT!!!!!!!!!!!

Run it in Windows emulation.

Why should someone develop a Mac version if it already runs with darwine?

Skip - I imagine that when DVD Profiler was launched it had far less than 1000 subscribers. If IV produced a mac version, perhaps consumers using other mac-compatible products would begin to use this superior product. Then the mac consumer base would grow.

I'm looking into this Darwine product, the website isn't very clear as to what it does though. Or perhaps it's just not numpty-friendly.

It would be great to get DVD Profiler running on my mac so I could update my collection - it's swelled quite a bit.

Mat:

You chose the "superior" computer. There are a LOT of programs out there that ONLY run on Windows machines. Mac users have bemoaned this fact for years, It is the price you pay for purchasing the "superior" computer and will always remain so. And as long as IVS has ONE SINGLE programmer you are NOT going to get a Mac compatible product so....live with it. It is the way it will always be.

Remoinds of Sony's Beta users. Waaaaah! Holywood you have to support my purchase of a superior video player. Hollywood's answer...No, I don't, I support what SELLS.

Hey Skip,

Read people's posts properly before replying to them in such a rude fashion. The superior product referred to was DVD Profiler, not my macintosh computer.

You do tend to have a rotten habit of 'jumping down throats' of people who offer an opinion that is in ompetition with your own. B

y the way, the capital letters that plague your posts makes them harder to read, rather than emphasising your simple points.

Peter,

Would you mind explaining exactly what Darwine is? I think I have installed it, but can't seem to find an application.

Regards to you both.

Mat.

MAT:

For your refence my Mac talk is always a bit tongue in cheek. However, since you were referring to Profiler as the superior product, from a business viewpoint it isn't their responsibility to be concerned about building either the PC or the Apple customer base. Their concern is build their product in a way that will generate the most money from the largest posssible base, which in most cases is going to be viewed as PC. It is Apple's job to worry about the Mac customer base and Microsoft and the various computer manufacturer's responsibility to worry about PC's.

Darwine is a rebuild of the Windows APIs. It allows u to use certain Windows programs directly under MacOSX. One thing that works with Darwine is the Profiler
Can't help u much though, still using a G4 PPC, Darwine only works on intel macs.
Bootcamp is not a real emulator, it will just allow you to install Windows on ur mac.

Why is it always neccessary to be so rude? You can say after the fact, and when someone calls you on it, that it is "tongue in cheek", but I doubt people are buying it...

And when trying to use someone's post against them  - "superior" - make sure you read it correctly so you don't make yourself look so foolish.

For the record the "Top 10 Support Solutions" say (very politely):
Quote:
With apologies to our Mac fans, at this time there is no Macintosh version, and no firm plans to create a Mac version. Although we cannot provide support for this solution, many users successfully run DVD Profiler under Virtual PC on their Mac.

While it it does not look promising, it certainly does not say "a Mac version isn't going to happen" or "as long as IVS has ONE SINGLE programmer you are NOT going to get a Mac compatible product"...so trying to speak for IVS when in no position to, and getting the info wrong Skip!

As a note to IVS, I guess this support solution needs updating to reflect Mac OSX, and Intel Macs.
