R we allowed to change colours of someone elses skin and then upload it or not?
I like the darkskin-english 1 skin but it would look better black instead of grey I think!!!!

I don't know why not, they aren't copyrighted, I would think it would be polite to note that you derived you skin from X source, but other than that...have at it.

I would say most skin authors do welcome changes to their skin. But I would strongly recommend to change the title of your changed skin before uploading to prevent confusion.

Of course they are copyrighted. But by uploading a skin to IVS you grant IVS unlimited license including the right for IVS to grant this license to anybody else.

Somehow, I doubt that too many folks have actually done that for their skins.

How about simply pm'ing the creator of the original skin and ask his permission to publish a modified version.  I'll bet you he/she will gladly grant it.

No you have not to apply for anything. The copyright is granted to you at the moment you create the material protected by the law.

Right Im making a different colour version,changing its name slightly so theres no confusion and im not asking whoever made the original :D
