what month and year did IVS profiler start.???

.,One way of near- knowing is to check Skip's on line registration date of Oct 4th 2000........... ?

edit: I just discovered  Ya_Shin's date of May 2000 .
but before then.., back in the olden days...

Would it have been 1998 or 1999??

Like,  what is the history and time line of this program ??

Wow, since my registration is dated back in May 2000 and the post Draxen linked is from June 2000 and talks about version 1.0 coming up, I must have used version 0.9 in the beginning. I have no recollection of that whatsoever...

I guess the very beginning must have been in 1999 then.

Well, since I only found out about DVD Profiler around a month ago,   that would be almost my entire collection which is currently sitting at 1339  (including series), so since I have only captured around 450 I guess I have a lot of work to do to catch up.   I had been looking for something like this as my sister had been on at me   to include things like cast, genre and synopsis in my list. She had offered to capture all that for me on excel, but this is way better. So far I have been lucky and have had to capture from scratch only 3 DVDs but that doesn'y mean I won't have more to capture.

Yikes!

You might consider getting yourself a barcode scanner.  I hear cuecat works nicely if you can find one.

I had 185 DVDs to enter, but I had my existing DVD list on my own website -- still do today! (http://www.yosemite-sam.net/TV-Movies/Lafe-DVD-List.html).

And thankfully I kept all my reciepts, so I knew the purchase price, date and location for each of my titles.

140; In fact my free account (Oct 8, 2002) with my first list of DVDs still exists. I registered two days later after I found out you could download hi-res cover scans and use the program add-free and I only had to pay $25 for it.

Exactly 34

I obtained my reg key on May 24, 2001, and since I keep a thorough track record on my purchase dates, that's all I had at the time.

In answer to the post farther up regarding the numbers since using the program (an intriguing idea, but with shocking results.... see for yourself ):

Within a month I went up to 44, within 6 months I counted 114, and a year after my registration I had 229. Adding another year in total usage time of DVDP added up to a total 369, another year later I had spent money on a total of 734 titles ( , I believe I should stop doing this list now... ).

Add another year (2004/2005), 751 became 933, so I slowed down a little ( ), but in 2005 / 2006 I made up for that again, by adding 305 new titles, passing well into four digit figures and ending my fifth year of using DVDP with 1238.

And this increase has continued, since during the past 9 1/2 months I happily added another 325 titles and am currently running at 1563.
