Thanks for the info on the headshots Tom.

Amazing how quick this is with a collection my size, I'm very impressed.

A couple of questions, hopefully someone can help.....

1/ i have assigned episodes as per Madacids instructions and it is excellent. However for example when i view notes under profile information on allo allo, the ?logo? at the top just shows the dreaded 'red cross in the box', and "show picture" does not bring anything up. The rest of the notes are fine in HTML format.

2/ Is there a thread where we can leave SQL Query requests?

3/ Is there a way to start the viewer that will show the first headshot of each new profile you click on? By default it doesn't show anyone until you click on them

4/ Is it possible to consider making 'view profile' a tab selection as opposed to a menu drop-down selection? I have found I am going into that choice a lot.

5/ Do any changes such as additions to headshots, alias's etc automatically save at exit?

6/ Are my images compressed somehow in the viewer??, they show as worse quality when compared against the actual images in the folder it is pointing to????

Thanks in advance, great job on this Tom

I am not sure, if it is the fault here, but I have a special handling in there, that makes notes, that work under Profiler work also here, if you are using paths relative to the profiler installation path. For this to work, the path to the Profiler installation must be set correctly under Settings->Path Settings.
Or you can disable this functionality in the settings.ini. Change the following in the ProfileInfo section:
ProfilerAsRootInNotesRefs=0

2/ Is there a thread where we can leave SQL Query requests?

In the old Cast & Crew Viewer thread I had called upon SQL requests, but there never came any. So you are also welcomed to leave your request in this new thread

I didn't do this, because the question which I asked myself was: Why should the first cast member be selected and not the crew member? Also it would take longer, if everytime you click on a profile, the appearances search starts. But if there is interest, I can call the headshot of the first cast member on profile selection (if there is a headshot available for that person)

Doubleclicking on a profile in the profile list also opens the profile info. Also the key shortcut Ctrl-I.

Yes. They are saved at once (not only at exit).

They are not compressed, but they are resized to fit the window. If you right-click on a cover, it opens in a bigger (and resizable) window. Left-click will switch to back cover.
Right-Click again on the new window, and it will close again.

Here is one of my favorite SQL-queries

"Last Watched" Movieprofiles & Episodes
Quote:
SELECT e.EventTimeStamp as [Watched on], p.Title, p.Runtime, p.ProfileID FROM Profiles p INNER JOIN Events e ON p.ProfileID=e.ProfileID WHERE e.EventType='Watched' UNION
SELECT e.EventTimeStamp as [Watched on], s.Title + ' : ' + ep.EpisodeTitle, ep.Runtime, s.SeriesID FROM TVSeries s, Episodes ep INNER JOIN Events e ON ep.EpisodeID=e.ProfileID WHERE e.EventType='Watched' AND s.SeriesID=ep.SeriesID
ORDER BY 1 DESC

THX Tom for help fixing the bugs!
regards, Mad  -

Version 1.3.7
- optional Crew Categories mapping (like in Profiler): View->Show Order Crew by Category
Categories are editable (Edit-> Crew Role-Category Mapping)
- Show full credits in Boxset Profile and Profiles with assigned episodes: View->Show Full Boxset Credits
That means, when you are clicking on a profile, which is a boxset (i.e. having child profiles), it will generate a credit listing by using all child profiles. Similar with assigned episodes.
- Duplicate Episode: Make a copy of an episode (copies data such as genres, studios, locks, audio, video)
- Add Blank Episode: Add empty episode. Useful when you only want to edit with the new quick edit shortcuts and not via the Episode Editor.
- Language File Editor (Edit->Language File)
- Copy Season Cast to clipboard (e.g. for import in Profiler TV-Boxsets)
- some minor fixes in credit and award editor

There seems to be a bug in the latest version regarding creating a ne w database. If you restart the program after creating a new database, everything should be fine though.

FYI
As the XML export of DVD Profiler has changed with version 3, the import in the Viewer will not work (use the 2.x export file for now).
I am working on enhancing the import function. I had planned a new release in the near future with a nice new feature (skin support for Profiler 2.x skins), but this release will now have to wait until I have sorted out the import.

(also the Cast & Crew editor will not work anymore with the DVD Profiler 3.0)

Version 1.4.0 released.

Profiler 3 XML import now supported.
Please make a backup copy of your database file before starting the Viewer just in case.

Profiler 2.x Skin support: Two skins are currently available for download in the data update area.

Skin "Documentation": Example skin which lists all available skin tags with default parameters and example
Skin "Deviant": Modified skin which incorporates a few of the Viewer-specific skin tags like Awards and Cast with headshots, Episodes and Events. Special thanks to Sundance from the phpMyProfiler forum for the original skin.

I have forgotten to enable skin support for this release :D
The reason is, that it was already present for 1.3.8 but I had it disabled and you could it enable it via settings.ini.

I will rectify it with the next release. In the meantime, simply put the following in the [Main] section of the settings.ini
[Main]
EnableSkinSupport=1
