I'm curious as to what skins people use and why.
I've never used one, and wonder if I'm missing something.

This may not be that new of a topic, but there is not one that I can see on the first page, and since there are only 13 pages of topics here, I'm starting a new one anyway, so no flames! (not that my plea will stop you anyway)

Standard vanilla DVD profiler skin.

I just hate skins for general use, they always lack some information, or bombard you with too much of it. It seems there's no middle ground.

I will use Mithirandir's skin though to show off my collection to friends and family. It's way too slow for standard use, but for just browsing a couple movies, it looks great.

That looks nice! I can't spot it on the Intervocative site, is that where you got it (or the one that you modified to make it)?

You can get deniro's skins here. (Beware that site requires IE.) The asite has not been updated for alomst 4 years, which is probably why AndyMore is using a modified skin. IIRC deniro's skin don't work "out of the box" with the current version of DVDP.

I like using the wheel on my mouse.  When you're pointer is over the list of dvd's on the left it scrolls the whoe list, when it's over to the right then it navigates through your dvd's.

I would love to use a skin but when you do so you lose that functionality of the mouse wheel and I don't want to lose that so.....no skin for me, only muscles and bones.

Thanks, Achim. I'd visited there before, but a _long_ time ago, and forgotten about it ... i may look into it again

Well, you only lose the navigating-through-your-dvds part; the scrolling-the-whole-list bit still works, but I definitely take your point (although I find that navigating behaviour irritating about every other time it exhibits itself for me ...)

I've experimented with a few now, but I find they slow down the program way too much.  I like the way some of them look, but the performance hit is not worth it for me.
