This question is probably a no brainer for most people but I bought a new computer and want to transfer my DVD profiler program to it but don't know how.  Can someone please tell me what to do?
Thanks

Install the software on the new computer

On the old computer do a backup of your collection (File > Backup) Make sure you use "backup" and not "export"

Once you have the back up file, transfer it to the new computer (burn a CD, use a flash drive, etc.)

On the new computer open the program and go to File > Restore. Browse to the backup file you transfered from the old machine, pick it, and sit back and wait.

Depending on the size of your collection and the speed of yiur machine it will take a few seconds to many minutes.

1) Backup your database on your old PC (File->Backup Profiler Database...). Make sure you check the "Include cover images" checkbox.
2) Install Profiler fresh on your new PC. Enter the registry key you find here on this site under "Registration"
3) Restore your database on your new PC (File->Restore Profiler Database...)

EDIT: I was too slow

It looks like you have uploaded your collection to the online My Profiler site at some point.  So, on your new computer, access Online->My Profiler... and make sure you select Download from My Profiler during one of the wizard steps and your collection will be brought down to your desktop.  You'll need to do Online->Refresh All Images... after that to get all the cover scans.

I unfortunately haven't done an upload of my online profile, and my old computer is down for the count.  The disk in the old computer is fine, so can I simply open the disk using an external USB casing and copy the database directory from the disk to my new computer?

My last option is a collection.xml file. I saw reference to UPC mass importer.  Does the collection.xml always include the UPC code as standard?

Thanks.

Most likely you can actually start DVD Profiler 2.4 directly from your old disk. Then you can create the backup on the disk in your new computer.
