Version 3 can be run without ads, with an unlimited collection size, without a time limit, for free.

it can track an unlimited amount of DVDs for free... just that most the  options will be turned off after 50 titles... you can still add to your collection and track your collection no matter how big it is. Just that not all the functions work after 50.

There is a difference Ken said it will run without ads, with an unlimited collection size, without a time limit, for free.

He didn't say all functions remain no matter how many DVDs is in your collection.

So it boils down to you can use the free version for as long as you want... containing as many DVDs you need it too... but if you want all the functions to stay on you have to buy the program after 50 dvds.

Because the database has been merged and there are no more updates to the 2.4 database. You can still download any profiles that already exist but don't expect to see new entries.

It's not cost effective to fully maintain the two, simple as that.

So are we all now forced to pay for another program to manage our DVD collection? If you to go to the Home page on *this* site and look up the payment options you only have to pay ONE time and you get all the options and such, forever. Now, if you go to the new site you have to pay again - is this right?

And, you can't even use Profiler 2.4.x anymore because when it tries to download new lists/profiles/images it gives that file error, so the original program of Profiler is now useless.

Do we get some sort of credit if we paid for the premium registration for Profiler?

Read the first post in this thread http://www.invelos.com/Forums.aspx?task=viewtopic&topicID=2

Everything is explained there. And to give you a short answer, if you bought DVDprofiler 2.x, you don't have to buy it again

Well, the alternative is that Ken keeps supporting your version. That time will have to be taken from somewhere - meaning fewer new features and/or lower product quality.

Please do not expect the rest of the world to pay the price of YOUR decission, just because you do not know enough about computers to realize how bad Win9x/ME actually is.
