| Posted: | | | | First, the sites with the general best pricing are not on your list. Sites like DeepDiscountDVD, A&B Sounds, etc. need to be there.
Second, factoring in shipping costs is important. It would be GREAT if I could select the discs I wanted to build an order around (a sub-set of my wishlist), and then have it show me the optimal way to order them - from various vendors if necessary.
Thanks |

| Posted: | | | | We are currently working out the details with DeepDiscountDVD.com and expect to have them setup fairly soon. A&B Sounds has not responded to any of our emails in the past and does not appear to want to be part of our network. As with other sites, I suggest you send them email suggesting they join us.
The system can definitely support the multiple vendor (best fit) scenario and has been on our implementation list for a while. Unfortunately, it keeps dropping off the high-priority list.

It's been a year and three months... any news on integrating DeepDiscountDVD into the Price Searcher? Or should I just wait for version 2.0?
Thanks, Fred. |

| Posted: | | | | I have to strongly agree --- while DeepDiscountDVD isn't always the lowest price, they're always a contender (especially when shipping costs to US destinations are taken into account). Having them in the Pricing comparision would make it a very useful tool; without it, I use other online price comparison sites.... |

| Posted: | | | | I would use it a lot more if it was accurate. I recently added "Air Force One: Superbit Collection" to my Wishlist. When I wanted to buy it I went to DeepDiscount out of habit and found it for almost $21 (free shipping.) I then check the pricing info in Profiler and found it on DVD Planet for $15 and Amazon for $18, what a deal!
I went to the DVD Planet site and found they wanted $14.99 for Air Force One: Flight 2: The Planes And The Presidentsa documentary about the planes. They wanted the same $21 (plus shipping) for the correct title; Amazon wanted $18 for the same documentary and over $25 (plus shippping) for the correct title.
It should be possible to compare UPC to make sure we're pricing the same disc and not just anything the some of the same words in the title.
This wasn't the only time this happened, just an illustration of why I don't use this feature. |

| Posted: | | | | The accuracy depends on if the site we are getting the information from includes the UPC. If not, we must do name matching which isn't always 100%. We just added DeepDiscountDVD and completed changes with DVDPlanet to get the UPCs from them so they should be considerably better now.
Amazon has yet to provide us with the UPC, but we will continue to work to make this better.
Thanks, Ken... |

Would it be possible to add them. I know they would be interested. That is the place where you can get the best customer care. |

| Posted: | | | | If you're going to add int'l amazon sites, you should add amazon.ca. I have found that after currency conversion, their prices are 10 to 25% lower than the same DVD ordered from amazon.com and often the lowest price available anywhere. Of course these are all Region 1 DVD's. Shipping is $3.50 and takes a little longer but.....it's worth it. Just ordered STTNG: Season 6 for about $79.00 deliveered. | | | Hal

| Posted: | | | | Hi...
I've been finding some really good deals at www.playcentric.com... currently free shipping and $1 off per DVD... (no, it don't work there or get a cut!)
They aren't always the lowest, but, some titles have been lower by several $$$!
The selection there is good, shipping very fast, and to date no order SNAFU's...
All in all, a pretty good site/retailer that might be considered for the price comparison option... or at least a manual check...
One note though, the site utilizes "coupon codes" that you key into a space near the top of the screen... these seem to change often... I keep up with them (in a text file) and have found that some codes offer lower bottom line costs than others... I just switch codes until i find the one with the lowest cost...
Thanks,
Travis |

| Posted: | | | | The link above isn't going to work because I type with lots of extra "..." (dots).
Try this one if you want to give them a look...
www.playcentric.com
There, that should work... Travis |
