I kind of see your point there Doug. Typically I watch an entire disc of a tv series. Just watched all 7 seasons of deep space nine, and as I list every disc in my collection, I marked each off as I watched it.

That said, last year when I got day 2 of 24, I did watch it all in 1 day. Sad I know

If the various titles were handled as a check list, it wouldn't be much problem to mark ultiple titles watched at the same time.

Why does the cover art for 24 in R1 suck so much?

As a new user, I'm a bit confused about how "Box Sets" feature in v2.2 actually works.

My goal would be to associate one index number with each disk in a set. This would allow me to properly locate each disc in a "carousel-style" storage system when/if I go to that form of media storage to conserve space. The problem is, although I'd like to reference the edition the individual discs are part of (i.e.: "The Adventures of Indiana Jones--Best Buy"), I don't actually want to assign a number for anything except the individual discs. I'm sure there must be a simple solution for this, but I have yet to discover it.

Suggestions? Or is this one for the 2.3 wish list?

Geo:

We know that we have a new box system coming for 2.3.0, but precisely what it is who knows, only Ken, Ken and Jesse know for sure. As far as your Jukebox plan based on what I see happening in the hardware market, that is Jukeboxes appear to be a dying breed, none of the major suppliers appears to have anything new in the works, I would not expect an inexpensive program such as DVDPro to fill your bill, there is software that WILL manage carousel units but most I have seen are very expensive.

DVDoug:

Sneaky plan, now how do we get Ken to turn 2.3.0 loose.

Hi Skip--

Thanks for your speedy reply. I guess I'll just have to wait along with the rest of you to see what improvements 2.3.0 will bring.

As for my "jukebox" approach, I'm actually looking at a very simple expandable storage-only system. These units include a simple indexing/retrieval program...but I'd far rather use just one program (DVD Profiler!  ) for both disc management and retrieval.
