@DVDoug
I saw in the list there is a pocket version. This is probably for PDA's but I was wondering if this would also run on a mobile phone with Windows Mobile and if so where can you download it?

DVD Profiler pocket hasn't been released yet - according to IVS it will come in both Palm and PocketPC flavours.

I don't know whether it will work on your phone - can it run other PocketPC applications?

Website bug: minimum post time affects editing messaages when it should only affect posting them.

application enhancements:

Ability to filter for MPEG and PCM audio like we have for DTS

Ability to delete studios and directors like we have for actors

A clean-up for studios/directors and actors that would find identical or near-identical names and give us the option to merge them instead of having to find this sort of thing through luck and manually change every title that has the wrong name.  Also should automatically delete all unused entries.

Addition of 4.1 to audio formats

batch locking

ability to filter for locked discs

application bugs
Actor's Middle names don't come up when searching.  If you enter "Sarah Michelle Gellar," you get nothing.  You have to enter "Sarah Gellar."

Changing a studio name to something already defined creates a loop.

I didn't see this one in the BIG list, but I think it would be good to have either the imdb.com score or rottentomatoes.com score for the film, or both, in DVD Profiler. This makes picking a movie from the collection easier especially for friends. This should go hand-in-hand with the personal movie rating.

Anything that involves automatically taking unlicensed data from other sites is pretty much out.

Because the scores are 'live' this would have to be pulled directly from the web sites concerned, and not be user-submitted. In turn DVD Profiler would have to have the unique imdb reference AND go online whenever you wanted the information (dial-up anyone?)

This is inherently unworkable IMHO.

Fair enough, sounds pretty reasonable.
Too bad though, but when put like that I understand.

It just means Ken it over 105

Doug, just an idea, but do you want to incorporate all the other ideas into your 1st post. That way people don't have to scan all the posts to see what ideas have been posted before.

I have been... (although I reworded most of them to be more concise).

The only suggestion I haven't added was the imdb score one listed earlier.

A few more requests. All pretty much the same but different.

To be able to search on profiles with/without images

To be able to search on profiles with small/med/hires images

To be able to search on profiles with your own images (and not yours if that makes sense).
