I did it the good old way... Spend all your available cash on DVDs and think of firends as a thing of the past.

Seriously? I worked nights so I had lots of time on my own - DVDs seemed like a good way to keep myself occupied. I still buy them even now that I am on less money with a mortgage and a high maintenance girlfriend and I have only been collecting for 2 and a half years!
They mostly come out at night... Mostly

617 and climbing. I just wish profiler didn't count things like the Rocky box set as 1 instead of 5. How do you guys get around that?

Hi desertflower,

triple numbers have a special meaning here in Germany. Going by German "law", you now need to buy a round of shots or beers

After I hit 500 I tapered off.  I haven't been buying anywhere near the amount I used to.  I use Netflix now.  Now I only buy things I know I'll watch more then once and it ain't much.  I have a lot of junk that's been spun once and shelved.

Signing in at 624...Number would be higher, but I got rid of most of my crap (some still remain). Going for quality over quantity at this point. Instead of buying two lesser dvds, I refrain and now go for one criterion or one special edition dvd.

I have the same regret regarding boxsets, so here is what I do;
I add the individual titles by name, and split the cost over the # of DVDs in the set, then I add the Boxset UPC - and enter it at $0 (& in theory, it does not overstate your collection because you own the DVD titles AND you have the box set)?
What do you think?

Put the amount paid in the boxset profile and the content profiles at zero. It accurately reflects what you paid for this way.

Entering with 809 listed, however, I picked up 6 more today that I haven't had a chance to enter as of yet (still at the office).  Will enter them once I get home this evening........
